The Heatwave
The Heatwave is a dancehall soundsystem from London.
After 15 years building a name in the upper echelons of the UK dancehall scene it was a natural progression for The Heatwave to start making music. Drawing on years of experience playing to crowds of all backgrounds, The Heatwave have crafted a sound that stays true to dancehall foundations while adding their own unique London twist. The Heatwave’s explosive live performances have been a regular fixture at Notting Hill Carnival over the last 10 years, playing on trucks, soundsystems and local afterparties. They have grown to become a bonafide ‘must-see’ feature on the UK summer festival circuit, playing Glastonbury, Lovebox, Reading and Leeds, Bestival and Boomtown in recent years while continuing to host the legendary Hot Wuk, one of the UK’s longest-running dancehall events. The Heatwave have held down the only dedicated dancehall show on London’s Rinse FM since 2009 and their ever popular dancehall mixes have over 2 million plays on Soundcloud. They work regularly in Jamaica, recording and collaborating with artists like Mr Vegas, Equiknoxx, Ding Dong and Mr Lexx.
